No On-Line Help

QUESTION: Yikes! Absolutely nothing happens when I select the on-line help button in IDL, or even in ENVI. Please tell me this isn't a new "feature" I overlooked in the release notes!

ANSWER: No, it is not a new feature. And I guess it is not even a bug. It is more like a sin of omission, I guess. Certain assumptions have been made about what kind of software you have on your computer, and if those assumptions are wrong, you can end up with no on-line help.

The fix for the problem is fairly complicated, but ITTVIS has issued a long technical report that explains the details. Following the directions you find there will solve the problem.
